"Action Essentials 2 will be available this JUNE! We have worked very hard on this new product and it’s exciting to finally show you some of these amazing elements.

We shot tons of great footage and developed creative ways to capture these elements so that they could be used in post. These elements are great for action films and even motion graphics."

"The Penny" Pickup Shoot

"This was some fun shooting as it involved some more action oriented scenes than much of the rest of the film. We had a great location to use as well thanks to the generosity of a local business that allowed us to film on their property after our first location fell through. In the end we realized why God caused that first location to fall through as this one worked out MUCH better."

Is Disk Fragmentation a Problem for Macs?

I've always been told that a Mac doesn't need defragmenting because it does it all for you. I've changed my mind however after reading this article...

"OS X does a great job at minimizing file fragmentation by rewriting files in contiguous space when a file is opened, is under 20MB and contains more than eight fragments. This works quite well to prevent heavy file fragmentation, but what it doesn’t prevent is free space fragmentation."

I did some more researching about programs to use and who uses them, come to find out that a lot of people degrag their Macs including "the Apple folks" in CA!

Click Here to read the full article I mentioned above. It covers more info about defragmenting a Mac and lists several programs you can use. The program I ended up using is iDefrag ($30) I've been really happy with how well and fast it has worked!

Heartland Graphic Design

I've been doing the CD graphic design work for Heartland Baptist Bible College since 2007. They have three singing groups and each year they produce a CD through Heartland Studios.

Each design package includes a 4 page insert (front, back and 2 page inside), CD label, tray (cd case back) and an 11x17 poster. Click on the pictures to see a larger version. Enjoy!

"Snack Bank" BTS

A bit of inside info here: The snack machine was a bunch of boxes with a green screen wrapped around it. In post production I designed the entire front with Photo Shop and Ethan Ledden put it all together with After Effects.

Oh, and YouTube counts only 1 view per computer…per day. So if you liked the commercial I’d appreciate if you could spare a grand 30 seconds to watch it once in a while :) The more views my video has, the more chances of winning!

RE:collection 2007

In 2004, 2005 and 2006 Vision Forum produced a DVD set of some of the best films from the year's film festival! It was usually 4 DVDs for about $45 and was a great way to take home a great collection of Christian movies. Except there was one problem! None of the money made from the DVD sets went to the filmmakers who made the movies.

NOW INTRODUCING: "RE:collection 2007"

A DVD compilation of some of the best short films that were shown at the 2007 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival (SAICFF). This DVD is ideal for families who enjoy good, clean entertainment. All films were created by independent, Christian filmmakers.

3 DVDs for $29.95 - Click Here for a list of the films included!

The best part about this collection is that the profits are distributed to the filmmakers! "The royalty is calculated based on the length of the film and the final rank that the film achieved in the SAICFF competition. This is a very fare arrangement because higher ranked films will receive more and longer films will receive more."

This DVD set has been put together by John Vines and members from Dallas Christian Filmmakers. Visit ChristianShortFilms.com for more info about "RE:collection 2007."
