Does Hollywood Love Christians Now?

"After my first feature film Hometown Legend had been sold to Warner Brothers, I had some meetings with the WB marketing team in 2001. Near the end of their presentation, I said, “Now you know that this film has some faith elements in it, and my Dad (the executive producer) wrote the Left Behind books, so we could take advantage of his fan base and also promote the film to churches and youth groups.” After an awkward pause where I assume they were expecting me to explain myself, they had two questions: “What are the Left Behind books, and what are youth groups?”"

I came across this article by Dallas Jenkins the other day and was curious to know what his answer would be...you'll have to read it to find out for yourself.

BEST OF FESTIVAL: THE WIDOW'S MIGHT

Well it's finally over! The Academy was incredible with sessions about Sci-Fi From a Biblical Worldview, Behind the Scenes of Fireproof, Color Correction, Stunts and Violence in Films, All About the RED Camera and of course the theological sessions.

The Festival was also really good this year with a overall improvement in the technical quality of the films in the competition! Even though my trailer, along Pendragon, didn't win anything it was still an enjoyable festival. There are a good number of the films available for download at Behemoth.com. Several of my favorite films were Pendragon, Fireproof, The Widow's Might, Dad the Hero, Dialtone, A Collection of Fortunate Happenings, Council's Commission and Wars of Humanity III.

The Other Son Trailer

The Other Son Trailer from Leclerc Brothers Motion Pictures on Vimeo.

"Perhaps the greatest biblical parable of all time is that of the Prodigal Son. This gripping story has all the components of a suspense-filled novel. Mystery, drama, and forgiveness give this parable the elements of a great film. Its powerful message and rich attention to detail have been quoted by some of the world’s greatest writers including Shakespeare and Dickens. However, within the prodigal son’s redemptive message is another equally captivating, sinister, and compelling story. The film, The Other Son brings to life this powerful message, making this historic parable more powerful than ever."

The Penny

After 6 weeks, I'm finally back home...after my flight was delayed 3 hours, then sitting in the plane for 3 hours (before take off) and then car trouble on the way home, three more hours.

It was a good shoot to be a part of and I learned a lot! Unfortunately I can't give out much info about the project itself :) Stay tuned to their website.

This is the DP (Ethan Ledden) and the 1st AC (yours truly) working and hanging out on The Penny.
