Kendrick Brothers - Casting

Actor ApplicationCrew Application

Kendrick Brothers Productions is excited to announce that we will be casting for our fifth feature film throughout the month of April. While some potential key cast members have already been contacted, most positions are yet to be filled. It is not too late for talented Christian actors and filmmakers to submit an application.

Between now and May 1st, our team will be going through the 1,300+ actor and crew applications submitted on our website and contacting those specific individuals we believe are a potential fit for an acting role or crew position. We are grateful for the number of people from across the nation who have applied online and look forward to building another outstanding movie team. If you have submitted an application, we ask that you be patient with the process and not contact us to see if you have been selected.

The production schedule is currently set for 6 weeks of shooting later this year. While we are not ready to reveal the movie title, we are very excited about the theme, unique storyline, and journey the characters will experience throughout the film.

We ask that you pray that God continues to carry our team throughout the pre-production process and clearly reveals His specific choice for each role and position. He has always been faithful in the past, and we are asking for His continued guidance and provision now. We are not merely looking for talent and willingness, but for people who will become ambassadors for the message of this movie.

Join us in asking God to be glorified throughout this process and through the finished product. Thank you so much for your ongoing support.

Polycarp - KICKSTARTER

We did the hard work of getting Polycarp through production. Now we need to raise a minimum of $25,000 to get this feature film over the finish line! The more we go beyond our $25,000 goal, the bigger the impact this movie will have. Please note that if we don't meet our fundraising goal of at least $25,000 by April 25, we won't receive a penny. Kickstarter is all or nothing. If we are not 100% successfully funded, all pledges will be cancelled.

What should audiences expect?

While not an epic action film, audiences should expect an authentic and heartfelt story that will inspire viewers of all ages.  This character-driven period drama has potential to become a timeless movie for the whole family to enjoy!

Our number one goal is to make this a God-honoring movie. We have sought to make decisions prayerfully, and with good counsel. We believe the story will communicate an important message of being willing to sacrifice all for the sake of Christ. Our prayer is that the Lord would use Polycarp: Destroyer of Gods to touch many lives around the world!

Nicaea

Synopsis:

As religious persecution and warring factions threaten to rip the Roman Empire apart, a charismatic young emperor named Constantine emerges from the turmoil. Through politics and sheer military skill, he manages to consolidate power and defeat rivals including Maxentius (at the epic Battle of Milvian Bridge), Maximian and Licinius to become the unquestioned ruler of the sprawling Empire. As the flames of war subside, Constantine, the first emperor to embrace Christianity, changes Western Civilization forever by establishing the Council of Nicaea in 325AD, which lays the foundation for Christianity as we know it today. The producers are assembling a world-class team of highly accomplished filmmakers from the US and Europe to bring this important historical drama to life.

Polycarp - Editing

I've been really busy this year working on the upcoming historical feature film, Polycarp by Henline Productions. I was the camera operator on the film last July-Aug, and I am currently working as the editor for the film alongside the director, Joe Henline!

It's still in the developing stages, but I'm excited to see where it's going, stay tuned!

Roses - Update

Editing and Pick-up Shoot

- - - short update from a project I was "on-set editor" for - - -

Our editors and director have been slaving away for hours and hours on the edit and it’s coming along quite nicely. We've already shown a rough draft to several people and have received very positive (and valuable) feedback.

A couple of Saturdays ago we recorded some pick-up shots, which are basically scenes that help the storyline flow better but that we didn't have time to film during the bulk of principal photography. We asked our friend Allison Kinningham to stand in as a body double for our lead actress and as you can see below she did a pretty good job.

Below are 2 frames from the movie that I was able to “liberate” from our editing team. ;) Click either photo for a larger image.

Unstoppable - Review

UNSTOPPABLE is Kirk's personal and inspiring visual journey to better understand the biggest doubt-raiser in faith: Why? Kirk goes back to the beginning—literally—as he investigates the origins of good and evil and how they impact our lives … and our eternities. Reminding us that there is great hope, UNSTOPPABLE creatively tackles the age-old question: Where is God in the midst of tragedy and suffering?

REVIEW:

This film tackles a difficult and oft asked question, "How can a good God allow bad things to happen to good people?" While I applaud Kirk for making the film, and while I agree with the messages and conclusions he presents, the trip to get there isn't really my style. Fast-paced edgy editing...moments of loud, thumping raucous music...slow pacing to the story and messages, all combine to hinder the film from being enjoyable...at least for me. Also, the scenes in the "garden of Eden" (briefly depicted in the trailer) are often long and slightly awkward at moments.
