The Beyond the Mask team is thrilled to announce that Andrew Cheney is playing the role of our story’s hero William Reynolds. We are so excited to have the privilege of working with him on this film. Andrew had stiff competition when he tried out for the part of William Reynolds with over 1200 other actors submitting for the role. He was the perfect choice and we connected with him right away.

Andrew comes to us with veteran film experience, as the recently star in the SAICFF audience choice award winner “Seasons of Gray.” Athletic and likeable, he enjoys playing soccer and working out. We have built him a personal training room for his use during the weeks of filming. Fun to work with, Andrew looks the part and his acting has been blowing us all away.

"The Eleventh Coin" - FA 2012

I was blessed with the opportunity to be one of the leading teachers at the 2012 Filmmakers Academy in Austin, TX. FA is a week long film camp that gives students a hands-on opportunity to walk through the full process of creating a short film. You can view the short film at the end of this post.

This year they opted to produce a silent film due to time constraints and location logistics.

We had two units, Unit A filming the Bible-time side of the storyline, and Unit B (my group) produced the modern-day side of the film.

 Just remember, this is a project made primarily by students in one week.

Synopsis:

Henry is a hard man, getting by in the old west the only way he knows how: robbing banks. After his latest heist goes wrong and his partners betray him and leave him for dead, Henry is surprised to find extraordinary kindness from a widow and her children. With the influence of this family, Henry begins to question the choices he’s made in his life. Just when things begin to make sense again, it’s all ripped away from him when his old partners show up. Will he seek the revenge he desires or finally find his Redemption?
